- Fund managers: your name, email address, and anything you add to a fund page, like stories, photos, and service details.
- Donors: your name, email address, gift amount, and any message you leave.
- Payment details: card numbers go directly to Stripe. We never see or store them.
- Basic technical information: things like your browser type and IP address, which our hosting provider records to keep the site secure and working.
How We Use It
- To run funds, process gifts, and send confirmations and notifications.
- To help fund managers thank the people who gave.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site safe.
- To follow the law and respond to legal requests.
Who Can See Your Information
- The public: anything posted on a fund page, including donor names and messages unless the gift was anonymous.
- Fund managers: donor names, email addresses, gift amounts, and messages for their fund, including anonymous donors, so they can say thank you.
- Service providers who help us run Memorial Fund, such as Stripe for payments and our hosting, database, and email providers. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Legal authorities, when the law requires it.
If Memorial Fund is ever sold or merged, your information would transfer under this same notice.
How Long We Keep It
We keep information for as long as a fund is active and for a reasonable time after, as needed for records, taxes, and fraud prevention. Payment records may be kept longer because the law requires it.
How We Protect It
We use secure, encrypted connections and trusted providers. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a breach ever affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your Choices and Rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through our Contact page. Some records, like payment history, may need to be kept for legal reasons. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, and we will honor them.
Children
Memorial Fund is not meant for children. You must be 18 or older to create a fund or give a gift. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Notice
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If the change is important, we will tell fund managers by email.
